The Sidu River Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses above the Sidu River valley and connects Chongqing with Shanghai. The bridge spans 4,009 feet and is currently the world’s highest bridge with an under-clearance of about 1,627 feet. The bridge is scary not only for being so high above the ground, but also for being a very long bridge itself. Construction of the bridge cost about $100 million. It provides a picturesque view of the valley underneath and is built to be strong and sturdy. If you are of a weak heart however, you might need to think twice before commencing your drive on the bridge.
