Vietnam is home to the Monkey Bridges, some of the world’s scariest bridges. The Monkey Bridges are a group of odd bridges that are structured out of a single bamboo log for your feet and just one hand rail. The bridges are typically built by hand by the local residents and vary in looks and size from town to town. The bridges get their names from the posture you have to take while crossing the river beneath the bridge. Given the single handrail and the single base log, one has to stoop like a monkey in order to avoid tripping or falling off the bridge. Despite their very scary look, the bridges are a popular crossing point across the entire country. The bridges are also a popular tourist attraction where visitors go to enjoy the thrill of crossing the delicate structure and or watch others cross with funny postures.
