Alexander McQueen

A British fashion designer, Alexander McQueen is considered one of the world’s most renowned designers who was skilled, talented and successful. Up to the time that he established ‘Alexander McQueen’ his own fashion label, he served as the chief fashion designer at Givenchy. He earned a number of awards that included CDFA international designer of the year award, four British designer of the year awards and other prestigious titles for brilliant work. He worked as a fashion designer for quite a number of celebrities and adored by many.

Despite his success and finesse in fashion design, McQueen struggled with depression. He finally gave in and committed suicide in February 2010. He overdosed on sleeping pills, tranquilizer and cocaine. This was however not the only cause of his death as after indigestion of the drugs he hung himself using his favorite belt. His suicide came nine days after the death of his mother from cancer.
