Junior Seau

Commonly referred to as Junior Seau, Tiaina Baul was among the best NFL Linebackers. His passion while playing made him popular among fans and he was a 10 time All-Pro, 12 time Pro bowl selection and was even named for the NFL team of the decade in the year 1990. In 2015, he was awarded the prestigious title for being a Pro Football Hall of Fame personality. Junior Seau was discovered dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound by his girlfriend at his Oceanside house. The wound went through his chest and he was 43 at the time of his death.

No suicide note was found at the scene but only a paper onto which he had written “Who I Ain’t” lyrics that was co-written by Jamie Paulin, one of his close friends. The lyrics of the song talk about a person that hates what he has become. Although many thought that he committed suicide due to brain damage from head trauma that many football players suffer from, the autopsy revealed that he did not suffer the condition. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke however suggested that he showed signs of CTE a condition related to concussions.
