Sylvia Plath

Sylvia Plath had a place as one of America’s most popular poet, novelist and short story writers. She earned worldwide fame from the work she did between 1960 and 1963. Between 1956 and 1962, she was married to a fellow poet- Ted Hughes. She committed suicide in February of 1963 while at her London apartment. She did it by putting her head in the gas oven. At the time of her death, she was only 39 years old.

To keep her kids safe from inhaling the carbon monoxide, she sealed the door. Previously, she had made several attempts on her life due to her inability to cope with life. She described that her heart was clenched by owl talons. This was due to the agitation she experienced most of the time from daily work.
