Throughout the 1950s, Marilyn Monroe presented herself as an iconic actress and a woman figure. She was considered a popular personality all over the world. One of her greatest works was the role of “dumb blonde” which was a favorite of many. During her time, she was one of the highest billed actresses and her film gross was estimated at more than $200 million. Despite her fame and fortune, Monroe suffered from frequent depression and intense fears. She finally gave in to her condition in 1962 and committed suicide at the tender age of 36.

She used barbiturates overdose to commit the suicide. The suicide came as a shock to the entire world and a number of theories arose claiming that she had been murdered. Sources close to her revealed that she suffered from depression as well as abrupt and unpredictable mood changes. The murder theories were then proven wrong and it was confirmed that she had committed suicide from mental instability. Her death was considered a huge loss.
