Assia Wevill

Assia Wevill was a German woman who was among the people that managed to escape the Nazi capture during the 2^nd World War. She committed suicide in 1969 while in a relationship with Ted Hughes, an English poet. She took her life alongside that of Ted Hughes’ 4-year old daughter by using water containing dissolved sleeping pills. After taking the solution, she turned on a gas stove in order to die from carbon monoxide asphyxiation. She was 41 at the time of the incident.
