Just like Candy Darling, Jackie Curtis was popularly recognized as a Warhol Superstar. The American singer and actress was born male and went by the name John Curtis Holder Jr. Throughout her career in showbiz, Jackie was cast both as a man and as a woman. Jackie made performances in drag shows in which she would wear lipstick, bright red hair and ripped dresses. This made her a pioneer and one of the most notable personalities of the half-glamorous, half-trashy style with the drag queens. Jackie Curtis unfortunately lost her life at the age of 38 after doing a heroin overdose.
