When she decided to pursue a career in the show business, she adopted the stage name Coccinelle. Coccinelle made her debut in the industry in the year 1953 as a transgender show girl at the Chez Madame Arthur. Given the uniqueness and rarity of gender transition at the time in Europe, Coccinelle was the first widely publicized gender reassignment case in the continent.
