Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Cassandra Cass is a transgender woman who has a successful career as an actress and a performer. The reality TV star has openly spoken about her journey towards discovering her gender identity. She stated that her father initially had a problem accepting her gender issues but ultimately became accepting. Her mother on the other hand had often supported her. She stated that her transition was gradual and that she started by taking up women’s clothing and adopting women hair styles. She than started putting on makeup before resorting to plastic surgery and hormone therapy. Cassandra admits that she is more comfortable as a woman than she was as a man.
