Lana Wachowski

For anyone that follows the American entertainment scene, Lana Wachowski is definitely not a new name. Although many know her as woman, the film director and producer is actually transgender. The Matrix is one of the projects that she is most famous for as a director. She successfully completed her gender change in 2008. She has been open about the challenges she faced, feeling trapped in the wrong body. She once revealed during the Human Rights Campaign’s Visibility Award’s acceptance speech that she at one time considered committing suicide due to identity confusion. Now that she is a woman, Lana is certainly proud about her decision to get the sex change.
