10 Easy Ways to Look Younger

1.     Use a moisturizer before applying foundation

As you age, your hormone levels go down and cause the skin to get drier. Usually, you’d use a cream foundation to make the skin look more hydrated but creamier formulas are just basically more packed powder. If you like the coverage a creamy foundation provides, it would be better to use a face moisturizer or a hydrating primer before applying foundation.

2.     Hide your dark circles with a concealer

Concealers are used to hide uneven color on the facial skin especially with dark circles but they can fail you when they sink into lines and draw attention to your wrinkles. To avoid this, apply the concealer only on the inner halves of your under-eyes. Or you can use a brush-on highlighter pen instead.

3.     Curl your lashes

Did you know that our eyes actually get smaller as we age? It’s a combination of the skin around our eyes sagging and our other features becoming bigger. That’s why big eyes are often associated with the younger crowd. Luckily, the trick of curling your eyelashes does much more than just make them look longer. Curling your lashes opens up your eyes and makes them look not just more awake and alert, but also more youthful.

4.     Use SPF daily

Skin damage caused by the sun shows in dilating and increased blood flow. This becomes visible when you see a dark glow or color on the transparent skin. Plus, one of the biggest causes of wrinkles, fine lines, and dark spots as we age is sun damage. Citrus fruits, bell peppers, strawberries, and kiwis are among the good sources of vitamin C. Not only can this make you look younger, it can also make you more immune to common diseases like coughs and colds as well.

8.     Munch on leafy greens

Eat healthy, of course. Leafy green vegetables have carotene compounds called lutein and zeaxanthin which help protect and hydrate the skin cells. If you find eating your green veggies difficult, you can eat them with your favorite salad dressing, into smoothies with your fruits, or snack on them so you’d get the nutrients you need.

9.     Stay hydrated

Being thirsty means you’re already a bit dehydrated. You’re supposed to drink at least eight large glasses of water a day so don’t wait until you feel thirsty to drink water. Drinking enough water can make you feel better and look younger, and you also lose some weight without even trying.

10. Lessen alcohol intake

Everything in excess is bad and excessive alcohol intake dehydrates and damages the skin. You’re not required to totally abstain from drinking a glass or two of Perignon but always drink in moderation. Remember, you want to age like fine wine, not drink all the fine wine.
