Food is usually our answer to whatever daily challenges or events we are facing. Happy because you got a promotion or you aced that exam? Let’s celebrate at dinner! Heartbroken after a break-up? A pint or tub of ice cream or any dessert can cheer you up! Or simply just waiting for time to pass while waiting for the next meal? Have a snack! However, not watching what you consume on a daily basis is definitely a big “NO-NO”. This is why we are here to present some snacks that you can do. Read on!

#1 Smooth Greens

Yes, we know that the word and color “green” in food does not sound appetizing to a lot of you out there. But you have to trust us that this smoothie is heavenly! Just throw in some leafy greens like chard, kale, celery, or spinach in a blender with some fruits like apples, bananas, avocados, or mangoes. Mix it up with healthy liquids such as water, coconut milk, almond, or cashew milk. Add some nuts or seeds and you’ve got yourself a Smooth Green!

#2 Mango Salsa

Summer or the dry season is already starting for most of the tropical countries and that also means it’s mango season! So if you just love mangoes and tacos or tortillas then the mango salsa is for you! Make sure to cut your mangoes into cubes by slicing off the cheeks, making a grid in them, and scooping up the cubes. Then you chop some red onions, cucumbers, jalapenos, and cilantro or parsley and mix them into a bowl. Squeeze in some lime and sprinkle some salt. All done!

#3 Tuna Meatballs

Do you have some canned tuna just lying around in your pantry or kitchen cabinet and you’re running out of recipes on what to do with them? Tuna meatballs might just be the answer to this dilemma! All you have to do is saute onions, garlic, and spinach until it’s wilted, and let it cool. Mix it in a bowl together with a drained canned tuna, flour, mayonnaise, lemon juice, eggs, salt, pepper, and herbs. Then, roll into balls. Pop it in a preheated oven of 400 degrees Fahrenheit and bake until they are golden brown and serve. Enjoy!

#4 Avocado and Salsa on Toast

Do you still have some salsa left from your Mexican night and you do not know what to do with it? Well, we have a healthy snack idea that you would want to try. Just prepare some toast the way you like it. You will also need a quarter of an avocado and spread it on the toast. And here is where the salsa comes in – top of the avocado on toast with salsa and voila! You have got yourself an avocado and salsa on toast.

#5 Banana Ice Cream

We know a lot of you go bananas for bananas! And you probably want to spice it up some time with a different recipe. How about we make your banana into ice cream? The only ingredient you need is a banana. Just slice up some bananas and lay it on a cookie sheet and pop it in the freezer until it is frozen. Once done, remove it from the freezer and throw it in the blender or food processor and blend until creamy. Freeze once again and serve!
