Almost all the medical experts agree with the fact that people who sleeps less than seven hours per night are more likely to be obese. The human body works throughout the entire day and you should provide a proper rest through a proper sleep. Lack of sleep can lead you to lower plasma levels of leptin. Leptin is the hormone which control your appetite. It also plays an important role behind the fat burning mechanism of your body. Not having a proper sleep can also increase the level of ghrelin, which is an appetite stimulating hormone. These hormonal activities will lead you to consume more food and it will reduce the efficiency of fat burning mechanism. In this kind of a situation, you will have to experience the bad effects of being obese.

You can stay away from these health issues by practicing few simple things. You don’t need to have sleeping aids to fight these problems. No matter how busy you are, you need to maintain a standard sleep and wake up time. If you stick to this schedule, you will get the opportunity to fight obesity in a convenient way. You need to go to sleep and wake up at the same time, even on weekends and during the vacation. This will not disturb your circadian rhythm.

You should also make necessary arrangements to eliminate all the factors that will disturb your sleep. Having a quiet bedroom can make you sleep without any disturbance. It is recommended to avoid the consumption of food that is high in tryptophan at least two hours before the bed time. You should also engage in regular exercises throughout the entire week. However, you should not engage in exercise at least five hours before bedtime because it can affect your metabolism.
