In the early 80s, Pierce Brosnan was a rather unlucky actor. Making an effort in small scale TV shows, most of the shows that featured him got cancelled after airing a few episodes. He however got a breakthrough after playing a detective in Remington Steele. He depicted a detective who doubled up as a sophisticated thief.
