20 of the World’s Scariest Bridges

  •  Mount Titlis, Switzerland

At 3,000 meters above sea level, the Titlis Cliff Walk is a picturesque albeit scary bridge in Switzerland. The pedestrian bridge is located along the Mount Titlis cliff od the Swiss Alps. The bridge is arguably the highest suspension bridge in the continent. At just 3 feet wide, the bridge has a length of 320 feet. The opening of the bridge which was held in December of 2012 was marked with a snow storm that left the dignitaries involved only able to see a few feet from the bridge. It was opened to the public a day later. Although many people are terrified of the idea of walking in a bridge swaying gently at a height of 3,000 meters above the sea level, the bridge was designed to stoically withstand strong winds of up to 120m/h. It is also robust to heavy snowfall and has remarkable structural integrity.
