Officially opened in July of 1989, the Storseisundet Bridge is an 850 feet cantilever bridge that has a 75 foot clearance of the sea. It is an essential bridge that connects Averoy Island to the mainland Norway. Dabbed the road to nowhere, the bridge attracts many tourists given its unique looks. The bridge is considered scary given its steep gradient. It is the perfect road for you if you enjoy the sinking feeling that you experience in your gut as you drop down a steep rollercoaster ledge. The bridge is even scarier than it actually is from certain angles. To get a better look therefore, you might need to get very close. Aside from its elevation, the bridge is also scary due to its guard rails. They look tiny and don’t exactly inspire confidence, especially if you are a fast driver.
