20 of the World’s Scariest Bridges

  •  Vitim River Bridge, Russia

The Vitim River Bridge is a tummy churning bridge found in Siberia over the Vitim River. It is considered among the world’s most spectacular bridges, not for its beauty, but for the fact that it is scary and can only be crossed by the bravest. The six-foot wide bridge is an old metal structure that features rotting planks of wood. Ice is pretty common in the area, a fact that makes the bridge most of the year. Aside from its precariously narrow width, the bridge is also scary due to the lack of any form of railing. Very few people ever cross the river using the bridge. The bridge has also lost several planks and the ones that are left are rotten. You therefore have to meticulously watch your step as you cross to avoid falling into the water below. It is a great spot for adrenaline junkies.
