20 of the World’s Scariest Bridges

  •  Langkawi Sky Bridge, Malaysia

The construction of the Langkawi Sky Bridge was concluded in 2005, adding it to the list of the world’s scariest bridges. The dazzling bridge hovers above the ground surface at 410 feet. The bridge is about 1.8m wide and spans a length of 125 meters. As a safety measure, the bridge features two steel railings on either side as well as a steel wire mesh. In order to enhance and maximize the viewing experience, winds around like a curved walkway. The first and last 25 meters of the bridge are straight will the middle part is curved. There are also viewing platforms on which visitors can stop to catch a breath or enjoy the view. The bridge is scary, not only for its height above the ground, but for the rumors that have been doing rounds about its stability. The bridge has been closed severally for maintenance, a fact that has cast doubt on its structural integrity, with some hinting at its potential to collapse.
