Misty Upham

Active between 2002 and 2014, Misty Upham was a celebrated Native American actress who was most popular for playing a role in the 2008 Frozen River. For her portrayal of her character in the movie, she was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award in the category of Best Supporting Female.

She went missing in October of 2014 and was found 2 weeks afterwards, dead. She was seen last alive walking from an apartment that belonged to her sister. A small search party that went looking for her discovered her body at the bottom of a cliff in a wooded area. The search party was made of friends and family. An autopsy report that was released declared that the cause of death was blunt force injuries to her head and torso. The family later on revealed that she had been suffering from numerous mental health conditions and that they had been concerned about her issues. At the time of her death, Misty Upham was only 32 years old.
