Jovan Belcher

One of the top players of Kansas City Chefs, Jovan Belcher was an astounding American Football player and played the position of linebacker. Father to a three month old daughter known as Zoe, Jovan was married to Kasandra Perkins. He suffered depression that resulted from lots of issues and in December, 2012, right in the presence of his mother, he shot his wife 9 times. He then drove down to the practice area of the Chefs and shot himself with his coach and the general manager of Kansas City Chefs watching. The autopsy revealed that he was struggling with chronic traumatic encephalopathy. The cause was repeated head trauma while playing football. Studies have revealed that quite a number of American Football players suffer memory loss, aggression, confusion and depression from trauma to the head.
